Medigap plans, also known as Medicare Supplement Insurance, help cover costs not paid by Original Medicare, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. Offered by medicare supplement companies, they work alongside Medicare Part A and B. Each plan type offers different coverage levels, but all must follow federal and state regulations. Enrollees pay a monthly premium in addition to their Medicare Part B premium.
